Toyota Camry Monaco Ad Overview

The new 2018 Toyota Camry will be built on a modular platform dubbed TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture). Along with helping cut development costs, this has helped Toyota lower the Camry’s center of gravity to help create a more planted driving experience. The wheels have also been pushed outward, helping create a stance we typically see on more premium vehicles.

4 familiar trim levels will be available: LE, XLE, SE and XSE. Shoppers looking for the sportiest versions will want to consider the SE and XSE versions, which will get 19-inch black machined-finish wheels, more sculpted rocker panels and more aggressive bumper treatments with front lip spoiler and integrated rear diffuser.

Under the hood, the 2018 Toyota Camry gets an updated 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that Toyota says will burn less fuel and offer more power than the current car. Shoppers looking for more power will appreciate an updated version of the automaker’s 3.5-liter V6 that uses direct injection. The car will also gain an 8-speed automatic transmission (versus the current car’s 6-speed).

The 2018 Toyota Camry Hybrid will also benefit from an updated powerplant. It will feature the same updated engine as the gas model paired with an electric motor that the automaker says will earn best-in-class fuel economy. Perhaps the biggest change, however, is the addition of a new Sport Mode that allows the driver to simulate gear shifts akin to a 6-speed transmission.
